Pending Transaction - Natwest

Hi,
I attempted to make an order to purchase tickets for a football match abroad. However, through what I believe was the fault of the club's website, my order was not made yet the money was taken out as a pending transaction.
I immediately emailed the club when i did not see any payment confirmation and they have claimed to have refunded my the money. Yet the order remains as a pending transaction 13 days since attempting to make the initial order.
I have emailed the club a few times now and they have claimed on each occasion to have cancelled any failed orders I have made from their end. In these 13 days I did manage to purchase the tickets successfully and this purchase is the only one that has been recorded in the club's system.
From reading other posts it does not look like Natwest can simply cancel the pending transaction.
So what can I do?

It happens sometimes, when for whatever reasons the cancellation is not properly conveyed from the merchant to the bank. AFAIK at that point there isn't anything the merchant can do, as they see it as cancelled on their end.
You will just have to wait for the hold to expire on it's own, I think its about 14 days, but varies from bank to bank, so you can ask Natwest, what is their policy.
I had this happen to me last year and sure enough after some time the hold expired and i got the funds back to my bank balance.0 -
A transaction should not remain pending after 13 days. Contact your bank
Having said that would point out that money would not have been 'taken out' as a pending transaction and the club would have not refunded you as so long as the transaction was pending no money would have been taken.0 -
Contact NW, if the payment hasn't been taken after 7 days they can step in and deal with it to get it back.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

What is a pending transaction?
A pending transaction is a recent authorised card transaction that is waiting to be processed by the merchant and can take up to 28 days but normally takes 2/3 days to clear onto your balance. Once a pending transaction has cleared, it will appear below in your list of cleared transactions.
