Provided wrong invoice / packing slip inside box

I collected a parcel today and it came with someone elses packing slip inside the box. This also means my packing slip is in someone elses delivery box too.

It contains item details, address and order number and price.

I don't see payment information and email address should I be concerned? Is this a breach of data protection act?

It doesn't neccessarily mean that your invoice was in someone else's box. It may well have been spotted when packing their box, but retrieving your package, opening it, swapping the invoices and repacking may have sounded like hard work.

But of course it might be that someone else now knows your address and that you've bought a hedge trimmer/Bryan Adams live DVD/gimp mask.

It'd be quite embarassing if it was the Bryan Adams DVD but it's hard to see how anyone could use that info to cause you any loss.
  • It was John Lewis so nothing like those :rotfl:Yea I suppose all they've got is my home address and an order number nothing more than I'd give someone on eBay ;)

First time it's happened but it's the first time in many many months since I ordered with John Lewis.

Do you live in the UK?

    Are your initials GR?

If yes then your forum name has already told lots of people information about you, and for some people it's probably enough to track you down. ;)

Well not the complete story no but I see what you mean.
:rotfl:However this isn't what I was talking about.

Just wanted to know if others have had this, should I call John Lewis?

You can if you like. But if it were a widespread problem, I expect they'd already know about it.
  • I would not worry about it. If you want an invoice email the company.
