Does this claim include my husband ?

Options
Myself and husband didn’t think we could put in a claim for ppi because it had been many many years since taking out any loans we are taking about our first loan as a couple being taken out in 1989 including our first mortgage in 1990 , over the years we had different loans in joint names and credit cards in individual names.
Anyway I believed that because our loans were older then 6 years that unless we had the original paperwork we had no chance.
Neither of us is in good health now and were unable to get into our loft to search for any possible paperwork just before the deadline I saw that companies were saying that they can claim back as far as 20 years so I contacted one of these companies (well known) and put in a claim under my name as didn’t know if it could be done in joint names.
Today I received 2 separate letters from Canada square operations one for a credit card in just my name and the other for a mortgage which was a joint mortgage with my husband.
Both letters say that they positively identified that I held PPI on that account.
Now my question is regarding the mortgage claim because my husband was in the Armed Forces so the PPi was not needed because he was paid if ill or injured and if made redundant had a payout etc and I only worked a low paid job at the time and my husband has always paid the mortgage and his was the first name on the mortgage application.
So because I put in the claim would it only be on me or actual include both my husband as well because his name is on the actual mortgage which had the mid-sold ppi.
We were cold called about the mortgage and it was done by post and phone

You put in a complaint, not a claim, about the policy itself. Any redress will go to the person or persons on the policy.

Anything with your name on it should be included. It doesnt matter if its joint or sole. However, anything in your husbands sole name would not be included unless he was named in the complaint.

This sounds more like a mortgage broker may have been involved than something a lender would do. Was it a third party broker or a member of the lender's staff?

You will probably find out soon enough. If an estate agent or mortgage broker was used then the lender will reject the complaint as they are not responsible for their actions.
