first time buyer woes

Hi all , I am looking for some advise for my daughter and son in law ..they are deperately trying to buy a house as first time buyers the first house they had a offer accepted...at the last minute the vender withdrew it from the market ...money lost with solicitors etc .....the second house their offer was accepted again the some process only to find out a higher offer had been accepted but they had not been informed and given the chance to increase their offer so lost out again ....just recently the same thing happened again they were given a completion date when it came they contacted their solicitor only to be told that they had sold it to a higher offer, ...they are now looking again, they have found a suitable property but the estate agent is being obstructive by saying they are recomended that they get their mortgage through them despite the fact they already have a Mortgage in place all ready to go and turned down the estate agent s request to which the estate agents have therefore refused them a viewing on 2 properties...surely they cannot insist or do this , What would happen if my daughter was to bypass the estate agents and knock on the venders doors or send him a letter would there be any repercussions ...Thanks in advance

I don't see that your daughter would have anything to lose by contacting the vendor directly... perhaps the vendor has no idea what the EA is up to.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660
