Scam caller.

Hi folks,

Got one of these scam calls today, usual warning signs, different accent, addressed me initially as Mr (first name) how are you today, and when I told him politely to cut to the chase as to what he wanted, then said he was calling about financial services.

When i told him I wasn't interested and told him to have a good day, he replied, "you are not interested in financial services F*** you old man"

Needles to say I have added the number 07545173759 to my banned numbers.

Out of curiosity is this an uk mobile no?

It might look like a UK number but it's probably been routed from elsewhere. By answering the unrecognised number you have now been placed on a list of "live" numbers which will have been sold on to the next call centre(s). Expect more calls - not necessarily from the same number.

Reporting these calls is a total waste of time. There is absolutely nothing the UK authorities can do about them. Just don't answer an unrecognised number - if it's important they'll leave a message. If its somebody you want to speak to you can ring them back.
