Sage Payroll & NEST

Options
Does anyone use Sage Payroll and Nest?

I'm trying to set up the first payroll run for DH's first employee but am coming unstuck. Did online chat with Nest earlier today but they've confused me by saying that the pay date on Sage has to be 5th of each month? Employee's first pay day is supposed to be this Friday (25th). Does this sound right to anyone familiar with the two systems? I have set up the Sage pension bit to "Tax month" and set up the correct "Group" in Nest.

I haven't, but ... I can tell you that we pay our staff on 25th of each month, and our DD to NEST goes out some time after that, so I wonder if they mean that they'll want their payment on 5th, after the salary payment has been made?

I suggest you learn and apply the rules

do you understand the difference between the (reporting) tax month 6th to 5th, and the actual pay date?
  • 00ec25 has given you your answer. I prepared our payroll today on Sage for payment at the end of the month.

With the pension details entered on Nest, our scheme gives me the option to set the direct debit date anywhere up to the end of the first two weeks of the following month. So in arrears.

Sounds like you have done okay in that October's wage payment on the 25th is for the whole calendar month and the relating pensions must be paid by the latest date of the 22nd of the following month.
