Buying a House with potential Boundary Issue

It probably would get raised again by another purchaser, as any solicitor worth their £ will not just ignore something as big as this0

Well, yours didn't, until you decided it was an issue and alerted themthroughthickandthin wrote: »It probably would get raised again by another purchaser, as any solicitor worth their £ will not just ignore something as big as thisthroughthickandthin wrote: »Hi,
Our surveyors nor our solicitor did not pick this up until we advised them of it, but have since passed the information onto our lenders who have refused to lend us the mortgage funds until the 'issue is resolved'.

If I really wanted that particular house, I'd offer to pay for the legal work to resolve the 'problem' I'd uncovered, but it seems you think the vendors will be stuck, whoever shows interest, so playing hardball will get them to pay.

Thought I'd give you all an update!
Current owners agreed to drawing up a new defined boundary. This took a good few weeks to organise but once it was sent to the LR, they registered it within 2 days! So now we are ready to exchange....happy days!
Moral of the story, be patient & if you really love a house its worth going through some aggro to get it!0 -
