Plevin payment shortfall?

Hello
Contrary to most advice, instead of doing it myself, I opted to go through Reclaim PPI to sort out my PPI and as a result, received a Plevin payout from Barclaycard for £4.5K back in March.
I thought that was the end of it but this month, received an email from Reclaim PPI to say that although I'd already received a payment, they thought I should be entitled to a considerable further payout (suggesting 12-16k).They are suggesting I go through their recommended company Pentacle Disputes who will obtain further details from Barclaycard to see if there's been a shortfall in payment to me.
I was told that once this has been done, it will be referred to their panel of law firms and if further monies due or the case falls outside of legal limitation rules because it has been closed more than 6 years, they will advise me accordingly. No financial liability at this stage at all.
If the law firm suggests taking my case through the litigation process, they will then tell me the fees but apparently they are not allowed to charge in access of 50% of my claim incl VAT.
To be fair, Reclaim PPI have been pretty good and their commision rate has been 10% commission for the convenience. But I'm not sure what I think about this or if there is a different route I could follow myself to see if I'm due any more as losing 50% of my claim seems excessive.
Can anyone throw any light on this scenario?
Many thanks in advance

If you claimed and received money in March, then any Plevin redress due would also have been considered. This is just another way that CMC's are trying to find new revenue streams.....and they have already been warned by the regulators about misleading claims about compensation levelsI work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0

So you've been paid 4.5k and they think by threatening to take Barclaycard to court they can get you a further 16k+...
Your letter from Barclaycard upholding you complaint would [ or should] have had a breakdown of how your redress was calculated. There is no more 16+k cash anywhere except in their imaginations and in your pocket. It's like advance fee fraud...they promise more money, you give them some, they say, oh! sorry! we were wrong, but thanks for that extra cash....

....and the law firm was only incorporated in June 2018 with no accounts submitted yet and they have changed their registered address three times since then!
That tells you all you need to know about the company and why they have been set up!I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0
