This is infact what I am doing but the reason for me being here is to ask whether they can legally reduce my redundancy based on a part time offer and then ask me to leave and so I will lose my redundancy based on my current wage.

    Potentially yes, from the CAB:

"If you’ve agreed to take a drop in pay because the business you work for is struggling, your redundancy pay could be affected. It depends whether you agreed to change your contract or not.
This can be difficult to work out so contact your nearest Citizens Advice for help."
  • Hi, sorry to bother again, things have changed, redundancy was paid in full but I got asked to still help them and I have but remotely and for a reduced pay. All this, no contract but they want me to invoice them anyway. Its about 600 pounds per month which I will take until I find another job. One question now, should I declare these money as self employed since I have no contract?

If you're invoicing them then yes.

  • Looking for a little advice.
My role is at risk of redundancy due a department restructure. There are new positions available which I've been given the option to apply for. One of these roles is pretty much exactly the same Job Description as my current role, however 2k less per year, and I've now got to apply for it.
    My questions are:-
Can my employer simply change a title of a position and ask my to apply for the same position, and are they able to justify paying 2k less for essentially the same JD.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    thanks Chris
