Insurance Renew after a Claim

Hi
I am in the process of claiming on my house insurance. It is due for renew in 3 weeks, and the claim is not likely to be settled by then.
They have now increased my renew price by £250 due to the claim. I am getting cheaper quotes with the claim included. Can I swap insurance companies when I have a claim going through, or do I have to stay until the claim is settled.

Similar thread here. Nothing to stop you getting quotes as long as you declare the claim and, if asked, the fact that it's not settled yet. Some insurers may choose not to quote because of an open claim but not all ask and some may quote regardless.
