Double Glazing

Hi folks,
We've got a double glazed window in our bedroom. It's 1170mm wide and 1150mm high. It has one opening casement. It was installed before we bought our place.
Unfortunately we have found the room to be slightly damp and we've found mould formed on one of the walls. We think (through the process of elimination) this is due to the condensation that forms on the double glazed window. We are also unhappy with the level of noise we can hear despite the window being a double glazed unit. We live on a busy road and we can literally hear every car/bus/lorry go past.
So, would getting a new double glazed window solve these problems? If so, what sort of window should be looking for? What specs - argon filled? Laminated? What thickness panes/spacer? Etc etc. And roughly how much would we be looking at paying. This is the only window we'd want to replace.
We did just have a double glazing salesman come and have a look, but all my faith in anything he said evaporated when he said, "Our minimum order is £1500." My other half said, "The person I spoke to at your office said it'd be about £800." and the salesman said, "Oh, ok, I guess we might be able to do it for £800 then."
This would be our first time buying any sort of double glazing so I want to get it right.

First advice is don't go with any of the national chains. Use a local independent supplier, preferably one with a personal recommendation from someone you know. Where are you? Someone here may be able to make a recommendation.0

Changing a double glazing unit will not cure a condensation problem.0

How long has the window been there - has the building moved slightly making a tiny gap around the window?
The noise level suggests the possibility of a slight gap somewhere.
Check for slight breezes around the window frame.
If you find something try filling it and see if that helps.
Also - local independents are the way to go - ask around if any neighbours or friends can recommend someone. Or try Checkatrade etc.0
