Best domain/host/service for email?

Can anyone recommend or suggest the 'best' domain service for email, including forwarding it to Outlook or Gmail. Google and Bing suggest a lot, but nearly all are adverts and American. I want my 'myname.com/co.uk' and email. I see 123 offer a silly price, but then expensive after a year. I want the domain for years, many years if that's viable (I know companies come and go). I don't need a personal website creator or WordPress.
In summation, I'm looking to have "me@myname.com", for professional purposes, which can be forwarded to an existing Outlook or Gmail address.

I have my personal domain and email(s) hosted by Unlimited Web Hosting and have found their service to be excellent.
email accounts can be set up to be automatically forwarded as needed.0 -

I use 123-Reg as the registrar, and GMX free email hosting. Never had a problem with them.0

I use Namecheap. You can still buy the .co.uk from US (or most other) domain companies. I have hosting in Amsterdam at the moment, with Stablehost, but I don't recommend them, as too many downtimes. I am changing to VPS hosting with another company as soon as I can afford it. (with either LiquidWeb or Siteground, having spent ages researching, but not used them as yet).
I would always recommend separate hosting and doman companies, as if you have the two together they could hold your site hostage. It's happened to me twice, and both hosting companies offered a free domain that I fell for. I now have 19 domains and 12 hosted sites. If you have trouble with one company, it's fairly easy to transfer to another without hassle, if separate.
I don't recommend 123-reg, GoDaddy, Hostgator or BlueHost, as all have very poor support.
I do recommend Namecheap for domains. I've never used their hosting, as, like I say, I like to keep the two separate. Good luckLook at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?0 -

this is why you should always keep a backup of your site files and emails. If the provider hold your domain ransom, please contact the central body for the domain type (e.g. Nominet, ICANN ). If the domain is registered in your name, it will be easy to get back.0 -
I use 50webs. allows me 10 domains in my package and 200 email accounts. No idea how the prices compare though. I should probably sit in the naughty corner for admitting that. Just gone up its about £43 now i think.. must check.
Only had to contact them twice and they sorted me out fairly quickly both times.
Probably have a look at the free GMX see if that offers a better email solution.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
What do you class as "expensive"? My .co.uk domain is registered with 123 Reg and I pay around £20 for 2 years.
I had a domain a few years ago, I'm sure it was 123, it was a few pounds for the first year, but when that year expired they quoted a stupid price for renewal. I can't recall how much, but it was bad.
I'll look further at Namecheap, I've seen them while looking around.
I saw that Google do domains, anyone had experience of them? The address I wanted was listed at £10 a year.0 -
I use 123-reg for my domain and the free web builder and free hosting that comes with the 123-reg domain (A one pager site), Office 365 Business Essentials and the personal me@me.co.uk in office 365 forwards to my gmail account.0

After recommendations I've gone with Namecheap for my domain. I'll get hosting/e-mail from a seperate company at a later date now. Thanks.0
