Help please xbox 360.

I got my OH an xbox 360 last christmas and only now he has taken an interest in it. Today he got the kane and lynch:dead men game and it said on the box players 1-2 so off we went home and tryed to put 2 players on and we couldn't but now i'm wondering if the 2 players was for online as we have never connected it to the computer.
We don't really want it connect to the computer so can we still play 2 player without the internet and if we can how do we do it??
Any help would be great.

I've misplaced the instruction book.
I've been on the web all evening but can't find anything about 2 player's.

You need 2 controllers to play 2 player as it's split-screen with both at the same time.

We have 2 wireless controllers but once OH logs on it's fine for him to play but once BIL logges on it unlogges OH. Both lights are lit on the xbox and both controllers work. We've never tried 2 player before so we don't know how to get it or the split screen. b

what game mode are you in?
(i dont know the game)
as you can have online 2 player (co-op) or offline 2 player modes

Ok we did go through the co-op mode but didn't work as not online, don't know how to change the mode to 2 player offline.
What should i do to change the mode?

You may have to create another gamertag on the xbox and use that for the 2nd player. That's the way it worked on PGR3 anyway.
