I see you're stiil a member of the "obsessing about those who you consider are obsessing about membership duration" club, or the "obsessing about those who highlight suspicious posting activity" club, as I prefer to call it.
I'm honestly curious as to the relevance to the OP's question. You presumably don't know?0 -
Hello,
I am about to renew my energy through the MSE energy club however I have just read that Robin Hood Energy the company that supplies the energy for Ebico
is in debt to Ofcom 9.5 million and needs to pay it by 31 October 2019
Nottingham city council has helped Robin Hood to the tune of 5 million but not enough to rescue it.
Has anybody heard what will happen ? Very worried as I am Ebico customer.
RHE have now said they will be paying their Renewable Obligations Certificate (ROCs) payment in full by the October deadline
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=76417217&postcount=8
so worry no more.
However, you cannot renew through the MSE CEC.
Ebico don't pay any comparison sites commission even for new customers, let alone existing ones.
So renew via your online Ebico account. (or call them on their FREEPHONE number)0 -
That is interesting to know!
I have had to switch from Ebico failing to provide me with a bill for a year. All the entered meter readings on the website account, I was told was not recorded? (hard to believe there was a black hole in the account!).
When I finally decided to change suppliers, they provided bills that were adjusted/amended and I could not understand.
Anyhow, raised the issue with ofgem, who accepted their goodwill offer of £100 (deducted from final bill) and the final meter reading. I accepted the offer assuming it was the previous final bill, only to find out that the revised final bill adds up to £600+. I have lived in my 1-bedroomed flat for over 10 years and never paid a bill for £400 over electricity supply.
I am wondering if I should complain about the decision Ofgem gave agreeing with Ebico's final meter reading without seeing details of the bill.
On the other hand, if customers are requesting bills from the supplier for a whole year, I expected suppliers should be fined for not providing one! I may be wrong of course.
Any suggestions? As I am not sure I will ever get a correct bill from Ebico as they are producing estimates.
Thank you0 -
Welcome on board !
If you can't get a website to work properly, try other browsers, accept cookies and disable ad blockers. You can also send your meter readings by email or telephone.
You've done quite well to get £100 goodwill so that should really be the end of the matter, unless you can show that the final bill was incorrect. It's easy to check this, just subtract the opening reading from the final reading, multiply by the appropriate pence/kWh, add the standing charge for the relevant number of days and add VAT if not already included. Compare this with what you've paid.
BTW, it keeps things simpler if you start your own thread: bumping up an old thread that's largely unrelated can muddy the waters and reduce the number of replies you receive.0
