Short-term let

Hi folks,

We're in a bit of a sticky situation.

Our upward chain collapsed (bad) but we've found somewhere new (good).

Our sellers told us they were very early in their search, so I expected a bit of a wait on our hands with Xmas coming up. We've been looking at 6 month lets.

It turns out they've found somewhere already, an offer has been accepted. The estate agent believes we could complete within 2/3 months.

A 6-month let is obviously out the window and we don't feel like we can rely on family for this long.

Is there a service for short-term lets like this? What are our options?

Thanks.

If you can put most of your stuff into storage you may be able to find a local Airbnb place that suits your needs? Possibly dearer on a monthly basis but it is the quiet period so you may be able to get a deal if you message the host direct.

Some of the cut price hotels will do very good deals for longer stays.
  • You may find 6month let cheaper than alternative. And if completion delayed ok for probably 10 months before eviction
