1st credit

Hi,
Please excuse me if i am on the wrong board but as you may be able to tell, this is my first post.

Over a year ago I moved from my old house to the place I am in now. I admit for my sins that i left there with an outstanding debt to powergen.

Many months later and after going through a few debt companys the first being 1st credit i recieved a letter learning that my debt was now back with 1st credit and they were demanding payment. (I got rid of all the others by telling them i wasnt paying until they could provide proof)

I wrote to 1st credit again by saying i had no problems paying but wanted proof of the bill before doing so.
Just recently they sent me a photo copy of the bill that i owed and also a letter from LCS solicitors informing me that I have 14 days to pay this or court action will follow..

My problem is.. As my debt is with powergen do 1st credit have a leg to stand on?

I really need some advice on how to handle this situation.

Thank you.

  • This is absolutely disgraceful.

You have admitted you owe the money and you have come onto these forums looking for advice about how not to pay.

In my book that makes you nothing more than a thief and I really hope that all your creditors catch up with you and make you pay.

People like you make it more expensive for all of us decent people who do pay our bills.
  • As you can read from my message i have said I have no problem paying coz like i said i DO owe the money.. My problem is i want to deal with it in the right way and not through some bully boy company...
  • Oh what i failed to say is the fact i owe money is not questionable but the amount they ask for is..
  • Send them a cheque for the amount you think you owe (which is less than they are demanding), stating it is full and final payment of the debt.

Let me guess, because they've had the audacity to add on their fees for tracking you down?

Silly me, you say that have always wanted to pay them the money that you admit that you owe - why didn't you then?

I think that when you changed address, you expected to get away with this debt. Powergen have chased you for it and they have incurred costs in doing so.

learn your lesson, pay your debts - Pay up !!!!
