Removing black stains from oak worktop

I'm preparing to sand down and re oil my kitchen worktop.
This will get rid of most marks but some small areas have black stains that seem both on the surface in some parts and in the grain of the wood in the others. These marks may not all be removed with moderate sanding.
I've tried neat bleach but this does nothing - so I don't think its mould. I've read that oxalic acid could get rid of this sort of stain.
Has anyone tried this? If so, how do you use it?
Any ideas otherwise?

Water turns oak black, probably no way of removing the stains.0

Try sanding - you might be surprised. I've managed to remove some pretty deep looking water marks from my oak worktops.0

Not used it internally but use the exact wood bleacher that Normal suggested on our oak porch and was amazed at the results. Might be worth a go ....0
