Confused about the process order of steps

I ignored the original letter from NCP for unpaid parking for 1.5 hours and received a letter from BW Legal threatening county court action.
I've spent hours on this forum trying to figure out exactly what I need to do, and in what order. I'm uncertain as to wheather i need to request a subject action request (SAR), or send a letter of acknowledgement template in the newbies thread, to BW Legal? I'm very much in a state of analysis paralysis, and I usually overcome this and manage to figure things out for myself but this is proving difficult hence this post!
I've got out of a speeding ticket once by turning up to magistrates court and the case got dismissed within all of 30 seconds, because the prosecutor for whatever reason, had no details of my case on his laptop.
Can I not just wait for BW Legal to issue a county court summons, rock up on the day and simply argue my case there and then, is all this pre-court leg work neccesary, and if so, is there any posts with a clear-cut process of action step by step?

You cannot simply ‘rock up at court’ and vent. There’s lots of preparation to undertake prior to it, once the court claim form is received.
The NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2 describes all the steps - ‘IMPORTANT - KNOW WHAT YOU MUST DO AND BY WHEN!’Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You can never just rock up as you put it, there wouldnt be a case listed if you did0

As Brown trout says, there would be no hearing unless YOU follow court Directions and defend. So there wouldn't be a 'day' to turn up for - a hearing doesn't get allocated if a numpty ignores a claim, that numpty gets a CCJ.
The pre-action advice is to help you - we suggest people do a SAR not to make it hard work for you, but for you to 'see their hand' in advance of the claim, to help you meaningfully defend.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
