Can someone tell me if the Valspar Paint that you have mixed in B&Q is the one that you cannot get rid of the smell?

I got some for my study which I renovated about a year ago and it dried normally and any smell was gone once it was fully dry.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230

Thank you.
There was a thread on here some time ago about people complaining about the awful smell that lingered after using a particular paint from B&Q.
Can't find the thread so if anyone can remember which paint it was (to avoid) I would be grateful.0 -
I'm pretty sure it was Valspar, but they formula has probably changed since then.0

don't know if it's still an issue but here's the thread

Thanks all.
I googled it and it was Valspar.
I took a look at the thread and the last post was Aug so the problem is still ongoing.
I am not going to chance it - pity though as I found some colours I liked.0 -
Used a Valspar mix from B&Q earlier this year and never noticed a problem with smell. Would never use B&Q own emulsion again as it lifts when applying any water based paint on top, this was about five years ago so they may have changed the formula.0

We have used three different colours of Valspar matt emulsion in our new house and a tin of their wood paint for the front door and we're really impressed with it all. No smell at all - I think they've changed the formula since all the complaints. It goes on the wall really well and dries quickly. Most importantly, the colours are exactly what I wanted.
I used Wilko paint to do the spare bedrooms and the Valspar was so much better and worth paying the extra for.0 -
We have at least 8 different colours of mixed Valspar in our home, none of them smell bad. I wouldn't buy anything else.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I've just used v500 on a wall in bedroom. No smell at all. Thought it was a good paint. Not used it before. Got a tub of v700 to paint another room, don't know yet if that's any different.0
