I really feel you should go to a food bank, if there is one nearby. I think that they may be able to help with different food needs. If you go to them you may be able to spend the £6.00 on your autistic child. I'm not sure if you have to be sent to food banks via nurses/ doctors etc.

Hi there what are your ASD childs issues around food are they sensory/texture,smell,touching,colour etc?

Have you anything in the cupboards at all??

Is the list you provided absolutely everything you have?

We have some absolutely brilliant people here who can help but need a bit more info as to what if anything you have in store.

Definitely seek help from either the local church/foodbank if possible too.

If the kids are at school there should be someone there in pastoral care who can also advise XX

I was also thinking 'local church'. Also Salvation Army, they are pretty good as well. If you have any small local shops, not cheap I know, but could you go to one and ask if you could get food off them and pay later in week? If you have a Muslim mosque around they may also help too. Or facebook, sometimes there are local pages that you could place a plea on. You really would be surprised how people want to help.

Don't worry hun I still can't work the thing and I've been here years lol...

Right so he's more a soft and squishy food rather than crunchy and dry?

Hang fire on the shop as the foodbank most likely will have pasta/mac and cheese boxes etc

So you need lunch for him at home too and yourself,OK how about any others in the household does your other little one need packed lunch and is Dad eating lunch or ?

Just helps us plan meals better the more info given.

I suggested the school as some will allow breakfast club and pay later if benefits are withheld etc so might be worth asking.

Are you claiming everything you are entitled to as well DLA etc the local CAB can help with a benefit check so that's another avenue for later, most important thing is to get you sorted this week.

Also what stores are available locally (no fares) ??
  • yes prefers soft food most definitely
yes just me and him at home during the day little one receives free school meals due to age
partner is working until 2pm this week he will only be home for main meal at tea time
we don't get dla didn't even realise we would be allowed too apply but im going too look in to it for my oldest

we have a lidl and morrisons quite close by but I don't mind a walk to aldi etc if better value

I would urge you to try a food bank as well, they are just for these sort of emergencies.

Also, they usually have advisors who will help with a claim for benefits.
  • I will be contacting the food bank in the morning the ones in my area don't open weekends but I will go first thing
