I am just removing the old radiators for rennovation.its like a old boiler and it has the old fashioned cylinder.
Should I just find a drain off, drain and bleed radiators, turn off radiator valve, drain radiator and remove?

Just turn off both rad valves fully, drain and remove.0

I had a decorator who was putting wallpaper up - he took a radiator off the wall, put the new 'paper in place, put the rad. back opened up the connections - no problem.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0

Are you needing hot water ?
If not, drain down the whole system and then remove the radiators. Should you need to do anything to the pipework or replace a radiator & valves, you'll have a dry system to work on. If you are planning on fitting new radiators & valves, if it is a really old system, the threads on the old compression joints will slightly different to the modern stuff.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Thanks
It’s a old boiler with a bathroom above it and this old skool cyclinder.0 -
If you are redecorating, make sure you know where the brackets were bolted on.(Nearly) dunroving0

Ok, I wanted to make sure the water after draining system doesn’t keep filling..
The modern systems have this filling loop.
But this has a red lever above the old cyclinder, I presume I leave the red lever in its default position?0 -

If your system is anything like mine, there are two taps. One isolates the feed to the hot water cylinder, the other is for the central heating circuit. When draining either system, the appropriate tap/valve needs to be turned off. The other alternative is to get in to the loft and wedge the ball cøck up so that it doesn't fill the header tank. Or just turn the water off at the main stopcøck.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
