Offer of accommodation from council

I got offered accommodation with my local council then I noticed it says this on the letter that I don't understand 'this is a provisional offer,if additional information comes to light which alters the basis of this decision,we may need to withdraw this offer.
What does this mean as I passed my affordability check and detail checks and refferences and truthful 100% through interview but I did forget to mention I got another 2 credit card for the affordability check thats all,I am worried they will reject me.whatyou guys think

Its usually more to do with any further checks they do on your eligibility for council housing, nothing to do with affordability checks.

They are the best people to ask, we don't know their local policies.

However that applies to social housing. I am surprised the council ran affordability checks so perhaps this isn't traditional social housing.

May do a police check, seek references, check you arent lying, make you're legally entitled to be in the UK etc. If you owe another LA or HA arrears then this is likely to cause them to withdraw their offer unless you clear them.

Or in our case it was a family that needed housing more so we got bumped and they got the property (on the day we were due to pick up the keys). They advised us that they had kids and a safety issue 'altered the basis of the decision'

(i should mention this was many years ago, but they could still be obliged to prioritise)
  • Also to check you are not"intentionally homeless" eg left previous home when you didn't HAVE to eg before court order evicting
