Not clear that this is necessarily correct. OP has not said whether they are the responsible carer or the partner.

Made the assumption that the person posting the thread was the mother of the child, registered as main carer.

Agree that the person who posted the thread will still be required to search for work, if they are not noted as main carer of the child.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

Understood. I had made the assumption that they are the partner because they have a work coach! However they would have had a work coach prior to birth of child so, as you suggest, it could be an administrative matter.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

But you would have known from your to-do list, that a telephone appointment had been scheduled at on a set date and time, so not sure why you wouldn't have answered the call, knowing your work coach would have been calling at that time on that date.

In future remember to be checking your to-do list and journal daily. The appointment would've been listed in there, so you would know to listen out for it.

As for sanctions, the total amount of days sanctioned is a set number of days (7 for example if this is the first failure to attend, and more if it's happened before), plus however many days it took you to rebook the appointment. So if you ever miss an appointment, make sure you both put reasons why you missed it on your journal, and also phone immediately to rebook it. That way if you did end up being sanctioned it would be only for the set amount of days (provided you attend the rebooked appointment).
Amount left to pay on house = 64,400.

    Savings buffer = 1,028.75 of 2415.

    Next large expense = 159 of 483.
