I understand your point here but the Ombudsman excepts that the room wasn’t booked for the cardholder and doesn’t rule on that point.
The ruling is based on the fact that the cardholder sharing benefit does not excluding them from claiming consequential loss.
quite similar to your radiators probably.lol

So I have had the letter from Halifax, the exact wording they used to refuse my claim is
"Thomas Cook's terms and conditions state that for single component bookings, such as flight-only purchases, there is no liability for consequential losses in relation to any arrangement which you book to coincide with that single component"

My argument will be that my losses are a direct loss due to the collapse, had TC provided the flight(s) I would not have incurred the additional costs.

Hi blueste, I have had the exact same letter and rationale, which doesn't make sense to me especially when other banks are paying out, did u take any further steps with Halifax or go to FOS, I am not sure what the right next step is.

Hi, I was just wondering how you got on? I’ve had a similar case. I paid for my daughters and parents to go on a trip as a gift and they’re refunded the consequential losses for everyone except my parents.
