I am getting severe disability premium-what does that mean?0
-
We can't tell you because as the other replies have said, it DOES depend on area, age, what officialdom says you need (number of bedrooms) etc.
If you have a CAB, make an appointment and discuss with them. Or, when I moved to a new area, I went to my local civic centre, spoke to Housing Benefit and they told me I'd qualify for a 3 bed place (two children of an age to need a seperate bedroom with disabilities) and how much LHA was for the area.
Or google "what is LHA for xxx area", or use the link already given, put in post code as directed (use royal mail post code finder or use a shop address in the area you are looking at to get a post code).0 -
The site is showing 540 pound rent for London...0

London is broken down into a lot of boroughs, I doubt its the same in all of them. I looked at this site just now as I lived in Islington many years ago https://www.islington.gov.uk/benefits-and-support/local-housing-allowance
It just gives links to the sites you have already been given.0 -
What about housing benefit rates, I gotten confused between LHA and HB-will HB cover rates in London?
How much would I get?0 -
Stev23, you really, really need specific, tailored advice. You're unlikely to find what you're looking for on an open forum such as this. It depends so much on your individual circumstances. I was a welfare rights worker for 25+ years and believe me, I know.
Start by checking if you have a local welfare rights unit, law centre, Citizens Advice or other advice agency with a benefits specialism. You may also have access to sources of advice and help via your disability. Either way, please make contact with someone who can go through your options with you and help you to make a considered plan. Good luck.0 -
I think you would be better off getting someone (do you have a support worker of some kind or know someone who could) to help you with this.
There is no housing benefit anymore, HB became LHA. The only help with rent is called Local Housing Allowance or LHA but some people still call it Housing benefit even though it doesn't exist anymore.0 -
do you have a care worker who can help you? What about housing benefit rates, I gotten confused between LHA and HB-will HB cover rates in London?
How much would I get?
it is clear you are not going to be able to research this on your own, and asking vague questions on here is not the way to find out for yourself
if you don't have a care worker, make an appointment at the Citizens Advice Bureau for guidance on your options

I don’t have anyone to help, I was just confused as some people still use the term HB.0
