Remove unused bank account

Whilst I've seen this recommendation across a few cra reports.

Is it essential to close and remove any unused bank accounts.
I only have hbos to consider.
Any meaningful effect on cra reports.
Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb

    I don't see why it should be essential to close and remove unused bank accounts. In fact, from a CRA point of view, a bank account reporting each month a status 0 and no balance should be a positive, especially if it has an unused overdraft facility.
    Having said that though, if you don't ever use a bank account you should probably close it at some point

    Can't see reason for closing an account for CRA reasons, I can see removing an account that is never used for fraud prevention reasons.
