Hi everyone....its an awful day here...absolutely pouring! Had little grand daughter to stay last night and had a more disturbed night than usual. Her machine that feeds her milk through the night kept beeping.... would smooth the tube out and make sure there were no kinks in it and settle back down and then half an hour later it would start beeping again! Baby never woke...I don't know how as it makes quite a loud noise and eventually it settled down. And so did granny till baby woke at 4.30am and started 'singing' very loudly! I changed her nappy and put her on the bed next to me and we slept till about 7am...when her mummy...who'd had a lovely sleep...texted to say we could go to Aldi!
So off to Aldi about 9am, called at Asda to buy bigger sleepsuits and vests to go in little grand daughter's Christmas parcel as they had 25% off and then to our local huge charity shop which sells all sorts where I spent £3 on assorted toys including a big bead maze thing from Ikea which looks like new.
Home for early lunch and to put shopping away. I have hoovering and ironing to do and was going to walk down to DDs …..but I'll see if the rain eases at all.
Oh I had an accident on Thursday. I ride my electric bike to and from work....just about 10 minutes ride. Coming home a little rabbit ran in front of me and next thing I knew I was on the road with bike on top of me. A really nice lady ran over the road to me and cars stopped....I'm all bashed and bruised and cut my knee quite badly...but it could have been a lot worse. I was so embarrassed!

    So many woes today!

I've been out, did the shopping, went for a short walk round a local park and then came back. Carrying shopping up the close stairs is almost impossible now so I do one step at a time with the shopping bags going up one step ahead each time so I'm not lifting from my sore side. What a palaver. I forgot to take any meds before going out so they are now down my throat.

DM is riveted to Parliament. It's a bit like the Eurovision Song Contest, everyone wants to be heard before the long voting happens.

dp1 - what a night for you. I hope you can catch up on sleep later today.

-taff - I'll be staying here with DM. Whilst I'm in hospital there is a rota of friends looking after her. Once I''m on my feet I can hobble round her apartment. Short term pain, long term gain.

TA - I feel for you! Perhaps the plumber will turn out to be a whizz and gets it all sorted for you. Fingers crossed here.

csarina - I'm with you, my marble are loosening too. This morning I ended up with two contact lenses in one eye for a short period. :rotfl:
  • Quick update! Plumber been and gone. He agreed with my buddy's retired plumber husband that the flush systems are just too hideously complex these days. Yet another case of the old ways being best! Anyway he is hopeful of getting the part needed this afternoon and will pop back in the morning. He says it won't take long (hopefully!!) to fix. As far as the non-functioning shower goes he hopes it is something that will rectify itself once the water is back on to the loo!!

GERS I had Parliament on but I have had to turn it off! The constant braying and shouting each other down was driving me mad. What will be will be without me watching it!!
