Some very sound ideas Suffolk Lass, I am going to re think my budget plan and implement whatever I decide New Year, separate alcohol budget, pet budget, and special offer cupboard, always kept a separate car budget as that just is.Do I need it or just want it.0

Bought potatoes, cabbage and eggs today and tea was veg stew, cabbage and bread with a couple of carrots from the garden. The garden is nearly over now - I picked 2 raspberries this morning and there are just some well munched carrots and a few beetroot left. We're going to miss the free greens!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0

A cheeky £2.70 means it isn't quite an NSD here. 2 x 2Kg packs of sugar bought at the local supermarket as somehow the front garden is littered with windfall quinces again, although I'd have sworn there were none left up there last week. So there'll be more "marmalade" and some membrillo made; that's what the sugar (picked up by OH) is for. Luckily a friend dropped some more jamjars in; I was just about out of them.
Don't get me wrong if I sigh gently with relief now that all our guests have wended their merry ways homewards. It's been a lovely few weeks but it'll be good to return to what-passes-for-normal-round-here for a few weeks, before the Christmas festivities break out!Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Hubby spent €15.10 in Aldi yesterday. We needed bread plus fruit and he always gets treats too which were good ones as they’ve got the Christmas stock out so they are stashed away
€215.71 left the
Plus no spend day 1st and today 4th as I used my initiative and dipped the leftover bread from yesterday in egg and made eggy bread fingers for my daughter and I for tea:money::rotfl::T0 -

I spent £40 yesterday in a strange way, non counted in budget, £20 on coffee pods for a friend, I stockpile them when near an Asda, get money back next week, visited hospital for same friend blood test, sitting in atrium waiting for our number to come up, browsed the charity stall £2 on a nice garland for my Christmas wreath, £5 on a very nice picture for my bedroom, popped to local B&M and pet shop for bits, £2.98 on dog treats, treated myself to 2 bags of M&Ms, proffered £10 note, got 8 £1 coins back, strict rule all change goes into jar so a total of £40Do I need it or just want it.0

NSD yesterday!
I was really, really happy with my £1.50 Lidl veg box on Sunday. A lovely punnet of grapes (put in there because the packet had been opened), some aubergines and peppers that were a wee bit desperate to be used, an overripe tomato (which I shoved in a curry), a good few bananas and two limes. Next week I'm wondering if I should try and bag one as soon as we get in the store, pay for it and then adjust the shopping list to account for what I've got. I'm not sure you're meant to pick them up before you're at the till and then go around as last time I did that they interrogated me, asking if I'd added anything else in
Meals all planned out for the rest of the week, shouldn't be any reason to shop unless I can't face hot dogs without American mustard on Friday :rotfl:
Yesterday: Lentil curry with rice
Tonight: Soya mince bolognese, salad (and garlic bread if MyFitnessPal calories allow!)
Tomorrow: Veggie chilli, tortilla chips, rice, salsa
Thursday: Celery soup and HM bread (us), tomato soup (DD)
Friday: Naughty beige meal... HM seitan hot dogs in buns with fried onions, HM chips
Saturday: Veggie shepherds pie with green beans from freezer (from FIL's garden)
Sunday: At mum's house for birthday lunch0 -
€23.90 spent today.
I needed cleaning products, bread, yogurts, veg and more cakes for my husband (he eats them at breakfast with his coffee).
€191.81 left:money::rotfl::T0 -
HI everyone!
£73.50/£210 NSD 4/16
Yes, some great tips there, thank you Suffolk lass. I think I'll give the white wash tip a go.
Although I have to admit, I don't tend to buy a lot of cleaning products as I use all very sparingly and have recently started to use washing soda crystals as much as possible, and they last ages!
Mandi, we only have an Aldi in our town, not a Lidl, wish they did one of those veg boxes, they sound great!
Well, not a great deal to report as I've managed to stay out of the shops, today is NSD no. 4:j.
Meal plan still in progress; no deviations. Tonights dinner is a lovely easy meal of frozen batch cooked veg and bean chilli with brown rice. We've just been for a lovely walk and took some very large cooking apples left outside some kind persons house to take, well I couldn't resist could II'll stew them up and have with yoghurt for puddings.

I've just added up my spends for the last couple of weeks, including some older receipts that got lost in the bottom of a bag. It came to a total of £66.14 and I've updated my signature. I shopped mainly at Adli and Sains.
Last week I visited a market in another town (the one here is not inspiring) and got some free range eggs and locally made chicken sausages. I was a bit wary about chicken sausages, and couldn't have afforded them if they had not been on offer, but they are tasty and less fatty than normal ones. I'll go back in a couple of weeks with a bigger bag as there were some interesting veg stalls too.
Meals this week are
Tonight - sausage pasta bake - 2 portions, one to go in freezer
Wed - omelette with home made wedges
Thur - jacket potato with cheese and salad
Fri - spag bol - 2 portions, one to go in freezerGrocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget0
