NHS 1995 Pension options

My wife is in the 1995 scheme with a NPA of 55.
At age 55 she will have worked to 33 years, she is planning to drop from full time to part time to the age of 58
Finding it difficult to get information,
What hours does she need to drop to from full time to collect her pension?
Can she still pay into a pension ?
if Yes what pension can she / should she pay into, e.g. 1995, 2018 or other ?
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction

Check with the pension administrator or her HR/Pension Dept. https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/nhs-pensions
If your wife asks them, they would have the answers you may need.0 -
My wife is in the 1995 scheme with a NPA of 55.
Does she have "special class status"?

When claiming the 1995 scheme she cannot pay into the 2015 scheme, my trust offer to pay into nest in order to comply with rules for employer's to offer a pension.
There is a fact sheet on claiming your pension and returning to work on the NHS pension site, it's not that difficult to find. I would post a link but I can't work out how to do it on my phone.0 -
The NHS pension hub / website is very good. There are also tel numbers you can dial if you are a member.
Depending on your financial position if you continue to work part time it would be better to "defer" your pension, that way you can continue to contribute. Once you start taking your pension your NHS pension you can't contribute anymore.0 -

I'm a nhs pensions officer Best bet would be to contact the Trust pension and payroll dept who will provide a forecast and any information you may need. If she has special class and goes at 55 she will be under the abatement rule until age 60. This means she cant earn more with her pension and pt work salary more than what she would've earn before retirement.0

Hi Lee, I’m Confused regarding my pension statement on my deferred 1995 scheme pension ( more than I was expecting ) and am no longer working for the nhs- is there any service I can contact to check the figures? I’ve read of several historical posts here where people have started receiving their nhs pension, only to have some of it clawed back as it was incorrect .0 -

You can get an idea of your pension by sitting down and working out your entitlement in the 1995, 2008 and 2015 schemes. You may not have been in the latter.

Don’t forget to allow for the increases in entitlement to allow for inflation. This might be the reason you are being predicted to get more than you expected.0
