Handbrake light coming on in Fiat Punto

Options
Hey guys,

I have a 2001 Fiat Punto and in last few weeks the handbrake light has been coming on briefly when the handbrake is definately not on. It flashes on for a few seconds then goes off again. I don't appear to have any other problems and it only does it on occasions not every day.

Is this an indication of a major problem?

Car passed MOT in Oct.

Any suggestions/ideas would be gratefully received.

Thanks

No probably just a loose switch or wire, have a look around the handbrake lever.

Absolutely nothing to do with the MOT.

  • Or break fluid level low. Or typically with Punto;s the handbreak lever its self doesn't go fully down to the floor when released. mine used to come on going round corners...

Either low brake fluid or low brake pads. I guess it's yet another well serviced car....
