AutoAid .. Any good in 2019 ?
After reading an article about car breakdown cover on the MSE website I opted for AutoAid, but that was a few years ago.
I am lucky to have never needed them ... lucky in the way that I have had no breakdown.
I recently received my renewal notice, for early November.
I was just going to accept the offer, but decided to look at the reviews online .. some are not too good.
Has anybody here got any thoughts on them in 2019?
thank you

Used them this year and they were as good as ever. Been a happy customer for 10 years now and fully intend to renew.0

I used them end 2018, not good due to time limits set means whoever turns out only has about 20 minutes to fix it or get you towed to a garage
Mine was a starter fault so never fixed and waited for pick up on lorry
Not sure any other service could have done any better with the fault TBH
Because of the somewhat hurried an manner of call out I moved to AA who are not on a time limit scheduleEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I have been with Autoaid as long as I can remember. This last year has been the only time that I have needed assistance. Three times they have been called out twice for trivial thing, and once with a major brake problem. In all cases a local company was called to my assistance, turning out in quick time. I paid to have the brake problem sorted at the roadside. Maybe top rates but I was 200 miles from home so could not use my local repair man. Service I have to say was very good ‘plus’. One phone call to their office and sorted. How it compares to other’s? I will be staying with them.0

I think it is all down to who comes out to you. Autoaid call local breakdown companies so you may get a good service or not depending on th ecompany and how busy they are. Their prices have shot up from £38 to £68 lately. Some people report unhelpful response from AutoAid themselves. They were OK for me last year but I did have to keep repeating where I was for some reason to the girl on the phone. Took about 2 hours to get picked up on a tow truck.0

I am in two minds to use Autoaid. I've been with them before for many years. Prices have shot up now.
I can get GreenFlag for the same price of £59.99.
The only difference is I won't be covered in other cars, which is fine.0 -
No wonder the price has shot up. Since cancelling AutoAids new auto renewal policy a few weeks ago, I've had no fewer than 10 letters through the post inviting me to renew my policy at the end of this month.0

Still worth it for the price as it covers our 2 vehicles0

Auto aid can be good value as it covers spouses and unlimited cars, but for 1 person with 1 car, its expensive compared to others, ie Eversure.0

Do they use What3Words? If yes then that might resolve the "stupidity" issues.0
