Barclay card transaction dispute

Options
Hi

I have had £873.53 taken from my Barclays card from a company called Millenium Limo who is based at 12555 Orange Drive Suite# 110 Davie, Florida 33330 USA.
I went to Miami with my partner for our Birthdays from 20th September until 4th October.
I booked a Limousine for my partner’s birthday and for a day trip into Florida. I gave Steve Thompson the Operations Manager my Barclay card details over the phone to confirm my booking and told him that I was going to be paying cash, which is what I did, however on my partner’s birthday they tried to deducted around $2000 when the cost of the evening was only $500 so Barclays put a stop on my card, I called Barclays and spoke to the fraud department as my card was on hold and they told me why, because of the Limo company, I told them to keep my card on hold as I had not authorised such amount to be deducted from my account.

I spoke to Steve Thompson the Operations Manager at Millenium Limo and he told me that they put tried putting that through encase I broke or damaged anything in the Limo. I told him that, that was illegal and that he shouldn’t have done that.

On the 1st October we had a limo booked to take us to Florida and I called the Barclays and told them that I needed to use my card on this day so to lift the hold put onto my card, however I asked them not to let Millenium Limo take any monies from my account as it has all been settled by cash.

We left Miami on the 4th October and Millenium Limo took £873.53 without my consent.
I called and spoke to Barclays and filled in their paper work and gave them all the paper work I was given by Millenium Limo, however Barclays are saying that they will not refund me without the receipt, I do not have such receipt but I had paper work and their cards which I sent to Barclays. I also paid the driver outside our hotel and they have this on their security tapes.
It’s a lot of money to kiss good bye. What can I do?

Moni

What do the Limo company say about the £873.53?
Have you spoken to them since October asking for a refund of the "deposit"? or did you do $2000 worth of damage to the limo?

I'd write to the managing director explaining what has happened, that your CC company is investigating this and you ask for his intervention before contacting the police to report the fraud.
