Hello everyone, I'm a bit late as I've been pottering about this morning.
redruby sorry to hear that your father in law in unwell, hoping he recovers quickly
Gers, I usually find that once the streaming starts, the cold is sort of on its way out, hope this is the case for you
Hester, hope today is not too hard
Tru, glad it seems not to be a sinister thing
For those suggesting pest control for the rats, I'm afraid that it would be pointless as there is a little brook at the bottom of the garden and that's where they come from, I think. It isn't accessible from the garden but I can look at it, lots of places for nests and as it runs between the back gardens of 2 roads, I should think trying to reduce the rat population would not work. They don't come in the house, at least I've seen no sign. I'm also a bit unwilling as having worked for the council for about 35 years, I was based in several very old buildings at different times and there were often rats. The pest control people poisoned them from time to time and the stench of a decomposing rat is awful, breathtakingly vile. As long as they stay outside, I don't mind them. A huge tomcat was stalking one yesterday, didn't catch anything so he sprayed next door's shrubs in protest.
I have a line of bedding out and now it has clouded over so I'm crossing my fingers because a king size duvet cover is a bit big to dry indoors.
And I've still managed not to do any ironing.
Hope everyone is having a good dayI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -

Afternoon folks. It's been a lovely but chilly day here so after lunch I decided to see if I could make any headway with cutting back in the front garden. I didn't get as far as I had hoped before the bl**dy legs started giving me grief. I gave them a rest whilst I had a coffee and then managed a bit more cutting back. That's it for now sadly but it does look marginally better. I see the surgeon on Monday for the results of the MRI so it's fingers crossed something may be done to ease my legs as they really are getting me down now.
GERS your garden looks lovely, despite you not being there very much to tend it. I've always thought how lovely it would be to have a walled garden. I hope your throat, cold and cough soon ease and you start to feel you again.
REDRUBY I hope father in law is soon on the mend and back home again.
Now it's feet up for me until the girls arrive one by one. The Bake is all ready to put in the oven, timed for the arrival of the last one to be dropped off!
Take care one and all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Many thanks. It is lovely, even though it's north facing. I miss it dearly.
I'm feeling better thanks, the dreaded honey and lemon drink is doing its magic. I've taken to having a biscuit after it as I really dislike the taste. One of the joys of having no voice is that everyone else starts whispering. I used to whisper when teaching rowdy primary school children as it always quietened them down, more effective than shouting at time. Seems to work with adults too. :rotfl:0
