First of all I would like to say Hello to everyone and thank Martin for a great Site.
And any information you guys can help me with or help you can contribute to this issue.
I am wondering about a lost account.
This is a credit file issue and banking so ive posted here.
I can see some reference to an account number with Santander as having a £6 overdraft balance. (once)
Please help as I do not remember the account. I am Also disabled and I can not make my self heard over the phone. Well I suppose I could make a funny noise but that's not the idea at all.:money::money:
Can You guys help?:money:
all the best

Hi Turtledoves and welcome to the forum
Are you saying there is a Santander account recorded on your credit file with a -£6 debt balance?
Are you saying you don't recollect having a Santander account?
Or are you saying you recognise the account, but not the overdraft?I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

HI willing2learn I hope you guys make me welcome. As That was a jolly decent reply.
I am saying I recognise that I had an Account open However I do not recognise the digits on he report.. There is only 3 digits.
And the Balance It dose not state a - sign

Id write to them asking for records of the accounts or try a SAR as it might get what your after rather than a couple more letters before you get a response..0

You will need to contact Santander direct as they are responsible for having recorded the data on you file. You need to confirm whether the account is yours and whether you have accidentally gone overdrawn.
Are you able to go to a Santander branch and communicate on-to-one with a customer service agent?
or
According to Santander, they state "If you have difficulties with your hearing or speech, and if you have a textphone, please use the Text Relay service by calling us on 18001 0800 9 123 123".
or
Write to Santander with your query via email or Royal Mail.

Please clarify what you mean by there only being 5 digits. Credit reports will not how the account number.so I don't understand this.
The balance will not have a - sign but in order for a balance to be showing for a current account it must be negative as credit balances are not shown.
Is the account showing as currently overdrawn? What is the current status of the account? Is it up to date?
If yes, what does the history show for the past few months. Has this £6 balance been consistant and constant over a period of months or has it just appeared?
If no,, and it is a one off £6 balance showing for a particular month in the past, I would ignore it.
This may seem obvious, but can you not check your statement or online banking or use your card in an ATM to obtain a balance or min-statement to try to understand what has occurred?0
