Malta Airport Transfers

Hello - was wondering if anyone could help/reccommend to me the best way to transfer from Valletta airport to Mellieha ...?
Is this sort of distance best travelled by taxi or can you pre-book a coach service type transfer, get a normal bus, or just sort it out from the airport?
Ideally want the cheapest solution though don't begrudge spending more to get more
Flight arrives into Valletta at 18:50 on Thursday 29th November and leaves at 12:15 on Wednesday 5th December if that makes any difference for what you can find/reccommend
Cheers!
Chris

£39.76 return taxi transfers with www.maltatransfers.com
We use them alot when visiting Malta and not once had a problem. You can pay on booking or pay the driver(which is what we always do).
By the way it is Luqa Airport not Valletta."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
taxi from the airport will cost you about £15... these prices are actually set prices, you will find full price list at taxi stand inside airport.
I dont advise bus when carrying cases... they are cheap, but can be 'white knuckle' rides!!!
We have just returned from a 2 week stay in melliaha.. hope you have a nice timealemapalemapalemap alemapalemap0 -

Nice one guys cheers - will sort it out when I get there if it's going to be that easy ... my only experience of transfers previously was an argument and almost fisticuffs with a taxi driver in Barcelona but that's a whole other story!
Last minute impulse booking yesterday, I realised on Friday that it's as good as December and I've got 3 weeks holiday to use before the end of the year!0 -

Did you have a good stay pal?
Anybody have tips for what we should/shouldn't do bearing in mind we'll be there for less than a week?

Its quite a civilised affair, you queue at the taxi office inside the airport, pay there and you get a voucher to give the taxi driver. No worry about rip offs or haggling.

Great! In Barcelona, I tried, using broken Spanish from a guide book, to ask how much to get to where we were going ...
The chap took the bags off us and put them in his boot, replied too fast to understand, so I asked him to repeat, he did again too fast, so I flicked to the page in the phrase book with numbers on and asked him to point to which number ... he took offence at that and threw my bags out onto the pavement and started shouting at me ... called over the next people and started loading in their bags ... they got in the car ... he went down to the next car on the taxi rank and told him not to pick us up! The whole trip was terrible to be honest ... but that's my only experience of travelling other than with family/school ...
Anyone else with suggestions? I am looking forward to a slice of cake now so thanks for that girlpower
