Does the text say which court and what date the application will be made?

If so, she needs to attend court and oppose the applicationj on the grounds that the debtor does not live there and is no longer responsible for the energy consumed at the address.

This is what should have been done with the electricity meter.

EDIT: this warrants another written complaint as it's a separate issue, allbeit related to the debt.

Try searching for "ceo email" and see if you can find the EoN cheif exec email address and, as well as posting your complain(s) try emailing them to the exec's email address if you find one.

I'm sorry for the late reply on this Dorissalad, thank you to the other posters for your input.

I'll just give a bit of background around this sort of thing.

As we only have one name on accounts, when people split up or move out, we need to close the account (if the account holder is the one that has moved out) and open a new account in the person that will now be responsible for the bills.

We would ask for a meter read from the time the person left and a forwarding address, bills and reminders would then be sent to them and the new account for the person now responsible would start from the reads provided. (brand new account)

It doesn't sound like any of this has happened and it has reached a stage very far along the debt collection journey.

It sounds like we have now been told he has moved, but as I say it's happened after the debt collection started.

As D_M_E says the paper work is in his name, but also his new address, so it sounds like we've been missing some information.

I agree about putting this in to an email, with the correct timeline of events. If you can also provide accurate reads from when she became responsible this will help bill the accounts.

This will need to be investigated fully, a complaint manager would do this. The full complaints procedure is on the website and I think it would be worth having a look at.

I do hope this is resolved for your daughter.
