Boiler manufacturer warranties

My Ideal Classic gas boiler has run for 23 years without a single fault. It must now be living on borrowed time.
I notice that Ideal offers a 12-year warranty on certain new boilers. I have read the warranty terms and conditions and note that they do not provide a time for attendance or time for a fix. I looked at other manufacturers' terms and conditions and they similarly provide no information concerning service levels.
So what happens in the event that a boiler breaks down whilst under warranty. Could it be that they attend within a fortnight and fix within a month? Are these warranties of real value? How do the manufacturers behave in practice?

I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

They'll probably wait until 2050 before they turn up, and then say it's obsolete.
Still waiting for my Model T to be repaired by Ford under warranty. It broke down in 1925, being only 9 months old at the time.0 -

Real value they are just an extra above your consumer rights . They are not a breakdown cover and callouts and fixes will vary .
Practice today could be quick , Mid winter all frozen could be slow .0 -

I think that they do offer breakdown cover. This appears in Ideal's terms:
Within a warranty period, the manufacturer will send an engineer out to your home to repair to resolve any issues and get your boiler up and running again.
This is a promise to attend the home and repair. Ideal is currently promoting this with television advertisements. The promise is of no value without attendance and fixed times.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon.
