Was just looking at Kia, a 3 year old sportage automatic seems to be about £16,000
Maybe I should be looking at smaller cars0 -
Seat Arona, VW T-cross, or a peugeot 2008, we have just purchased a 2008 and if you look at peugeot online there are huge savings to be made on the list price because they are changing it this year. We got an allure premium 110 s/s for just less than £15k0

Look for a 2 (3 or 4 have all the toys but cost a lot more to buy) and for a 4-5 year old one, that should get you closer to what you’re after money wise0 -
Does the Kia Nero come with an auto option?chelseablue wrote: »Was just looking at Kia, a 3 year old sportage automatic seems to be about £16,000
Maybe I should be looking at smaller cars"We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -

This may or may not help much but I posted it on another thread the other day.
Manual/Petrol/ normally aspirated (n/a) engine seems to be an ideal combo if driving relatively low miles each year and which consists of short infrequent runs.
I drive a 15 yr old car..it's gets maintained and fixed as required,no more no less and it's had a fairly tough life so far both with respect to how I drive it and its uses..shopping trips, dumpyard visits and everything else in between.
Forced induction seems to be common now with petrol engines I assume for efficiency but only time will tell how durable they are.0 -
Even "down-sizing" has been around for quite a while. VW's 1.4TSi was one of the first, 2005...
Agreed, don't want to open up a can of worms here and don't get me wrong car maintenance is more important than model but both that TSI engine mentioned above and Ford's Ecoboost aren't exactly shining examples of reliable engines.
Going back on topic for the OP's thread I really like the Sportage..more of a looks thing than anything else..they seem to be holding their values reasonably on.used market too..I assume due to demand and the 7 yr warranty.0
