7-day switch via Barclays app

Hi, does anyone know whether you can choose your switch date on the Barclays app, when you switch an account to them? If not (which I suspect is the case), on which date should I initiate the switch, so that the switch date falls between 28 - 31 Oct? Thanks.

The date of switch is the date the switch will complete. So choose the date you want the switch to complete.

IIRC, the app doesn't allow you to specify a completion date. They say "Switching your account will take seven working day and your old bank account will be closed on the seventh day. If you're not ready to switch now, you can return to the app later or visit a Branch"

In other words, if you want to pick a switch date, go to Branch, or use the app 7 working days before your desired switch date.

The "switch date" is the date where the switch will complete and your old account will close. The process itself will start 7 working days beforehand however. Pretty much all banks will let you select a date for the switch to complete, usually up to 30 days in advance. Otherwise just make sure you start 7 working days ahead of when you'd like the switch to complete.

EDIT: See above - I have no experience with Barclays in particular, so it might not be possible to select a date in the app. Initiating the process on the 21-22nd should net you a switch by the 31st, otherwise a branch visit may be in order to get it on a specific date.
