Halifax's cheque scanning gives me backache!

The, admittedly few, cheques I've received in the past 18 months are blank on the back.0

Perhaps turning off smile detection on the phone camera would allow it to focus on the cheque. Alternatively, draw a smiley face on the cheque.

Getting focus on the blank back of a cheque could be difficult as the camera has nothing on which to focus. Making a mark on the back of the cheque might help, perhaps the receiving account number or something as simple as a straight line.0 -
I saw this post and thought i would try it, i have a cheque that i was going to deposit in a Halifax branch but it saved me the journey, scanned immediately brilliant.0

None of the cheques I pay in have anything on the back. Why would they?
Some cheques do have information on the back.0 -
