Telephone Lines Connected to My House

I recently bought and moved into a mid terrace house (second from end). I've just noticed that there's a telephone pole at the end of the street, there's about 10 lines coming from this pole and they all connect to the front of my house. From there they go to all the other houses in the street.
Is this a normal setup?
I'm in Northern Ireland.
It seems like my house is beimg used as a bounce off location for the wires because the location if the pole can't do it.
Just wondering who i could contact about this. A bit concerned about the legalities if something was ti happenti the lines ir my hoise etc. Plus it's a bit messy looking. Presumably the previous owner gave permission the BT or someone.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I can't advise you on the legality of your situation but is there a reason why you did not notice all those wires on your pre-purchase visits?A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
Get in touch with Openreach. You may be owed wayleave rent; or (a) previous owner may have signed away the wayleave rights. If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0

BT (now Openreach) had a cavalier attitude to the installation of wires across property. Several years ago I bought a property “off plan”, which had underground telephone cabling. To my annoyance, just prior to moving in, BT ran a cable across my garden to a bungalow a couple of doors away. When I phoned to complain, I was told that under the flying wires act they could run cables across my property and there was nothing I could do about it... I told them that as a radio amateur I could run 400W of RF into an antenna close to their wires and there was nothing they could do about it!
A couple of weeks after installing an antenna and using it, BT moved a nearby pole and re-routed the offending cable.
There is info on what Openreach think they are entitled to do here:

Good luck trying to get the wires shifted.0 -
I did notice them but wasn't concerned at the time.0

This is perfectly normal, the house was like this when you bought it, you have no grounds for complaint.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
