Switched but can’t get refund of credit from old supplier
Hi All
I’ve switched many times before but this time is turning into a nightmare.
I switched from Bristol Energy to Tonik over six weeks ago.
Tonik insist they have provided BE with my final meter readings.
BE insist they have only received the electricity reading, and say the gas reading must still be with a third party checking company.
Both companies insist it is each other’s fault.
BE will not accept a meter reading from me.
So , BE refuse to refund me my approx. £200 credit.
I’ve raised a complaint with BE but they haven’t responded.
What on Earth can I do to get my money?!
Thanks
Maureen

When you switch sometimes the final readings need to go through an industry verification process. Until that is completed it seems the figures are not accepted.
I forget the details but you might check with both suppliers if that process is or has taken place?
It does (in my limited experience) often take quite a while, especially for the gas for some reason or other. Not had to wait six weeks though. Between them you would expect someone could tell you rather than the vague response!0
