CCJ not in my name or DOB

Hi

I’ve received an email this morning stating that there has been an update to my credit file.

When i have logged on to check the change it appears a CCJ has been added to my credit file which was granted by the courts in 2015 but this doesn’t belong to me.

I moved out of my parents house for the first time 2 months and have been living with my partner since then.

We receive at least 5 letters a week in the name given on the CCJ but we just put them back in the post and put not known at this address.

The name on the CCJ has the same first name as me but a different surname it also has the same birthday as me but they were born in a different year.

Any advice on who i should contact to get this removed?

Thanks

Agreed the CRA's. Also don't be fobbed off as they will tell you that they can't remove it because its the courts or the original creditor. If it a different person then they need to disassociate you from them

The ccj was obtained in 2015 and has only just appeared on your credit files?
If it not your name or DOB contact the CRA and inform them that it is nothing to do with you and ask them to transfer it the the correct credit file.
You could also ask them the reason for putting it on your credit files in the first place.
