BGS - are we being ripped off?

We took out BGS cover in our previous house, where they serviced our boiler and promptly repaired our washing machine. WE have now moved to a property with oil CH. BG do not cover our new boiler (for oil) but we still pay the BG cover for services to our fridge, washing machine, guttering etc....

Is this worth £20 per month, or can anyone recommend a better company for repair cover?

Wouldn't it be better putting that £20/month into a high interest account, and adding to your household insurance the cover required, that should work out a lot lot cheaper, instead of £20 per month, likely to be an extra £20 per year on the insurance.

Ok you wouldn't get the boiler serviced, but the money you put away could pay for that if required.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

there are quite a few other services at much cheaper prices

BG seem to have a habit of wanting to charge a fortune to clean your system and replace valves before the cover goes ahead.
My mum has this cover and is often left waiting 5 or 6 days for parts with no heating - when i can buy the parts from a trade palce asap.

look around for alternatives as BG are never competitive
