RAC Approved dealers

I was looking through autos trader and seen car that was sold by an Rac approves dealer.

Does this add credibility to the company and thus less likely buying a messed up car ?

Is the AA’s version of this any better? Both are promoted on the MSE guide to buy8ng a used car so a bit concerning if they’re this bad!

We're saying that it's a scheme that RAC branding under licence, is run by an aftermarket warranty provider, and which any used car dealer can apply to join.

You can take your own conclusions from that.

If the car blows up then RAC/AA are not going to be rushing to your door to buy you a new one.

We are an RAC approved dealer.

Basically we have to do an 82 point check on every vehicle for sale - basically it's a comprehensive PDI which all dealers should do before they sell a car. We get inspected every 6 weeks or so - they choose a random 3 cars off our forecourt and check we are doing everything correctly.

Pretty sure there is a recent thread where someone complained to the RAC about an approved dealer and they basically said nothing to do with us.
