Resubmitting a failed PPI claim

I had previously submitted a claim directly to Barclay’s regarding reclaiming PPI. They initially responded to me saying that there was no case, even though I have evidence of PPI leaving my account on statements over the years. Before the PPI deadline, I submitted a claim through Gladstone Brookes to check for PPI over a variety of lenders, including Barclays, as thought they would be better suited to dealing with the claim. I recently received a letter from Gladstone Brooke’s saying that they had to close the case against Barclay’s because of the previous investigation against Barclay’s. Apparently you are only able to make a PPI complaint once. So now I am unable to pursue the case with them, even though I have evidence of PPI being taken.
Has anyone experienced something like this before and have any advice? Particularly as I am now past the claims deadline for PPI cases.

How long ago did you contact Barclays? Did their reply offer any appeals procedure or complaints?
If so are you still within the timescales - if not sorry you are out of time.0 -

Nothing wrong with having PPI. You can still buy it today. It was the sales process many had that was the issue. So, you having it is not a reason to pay out.I recently received a letter from Gladstone Brooke’s saying that they had to close the case against Barclay’s because of the previous investigation against Barclay’s. Yes. its not like Nicola Sturgeon and having endless referendums. So now I am unable to pursue the case with them, even though I have evidence of PPI being taken.
When Barclays rejected your earlier complaint, you had 6 months to appeal it.Has anyone experienced something like this before and have any advice? Particularly as I am now past the claims deadline for PPI cases.
Yes they have and they are nearly always referred back to the original decision.0 -
You dont get it back just because you paid it.
If you think you were miss sold you have to have tangible proof of the miss sale
If you do not have this, its 'good night Vienna'make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

You need to understand that it was never enough to simply have a PPI policy, in order for it to be refunded you had to show it was somehow mis-sold to you. You obviously failed to do this the first time around.
Regardless of the deadline, your original complaint failed and submitting it again was always going to be a waste of time. Rather than employ a Claims Company latterly you should have referred your original complaint to the Ombudsman within six months.
You are just fortunate that Gladstone Brookes did not charge you, given you had already complained.

Could you perhaps advise the basis of your claim?0
