Identity fraud home shopping

Hi

I know we all are aware of scams and i am very very careful when it comes to them, i never ever give out personal infoamation to no one, you see i used to assist in my department with customer security so would so i am very carefull and shred everything yet somehow i have become a victim.

I got a letter the other ay to advise me that i needed to call my catalouge as they were conserned that my delivery address had been changed and that they were sure that it was fraud, in a panic i called and to my shock i was advised that a fraudster has 1 gained access to my account, 2 changed my address, 3. changed my email and 4 managed to order a huge amount of goods. now after checking other accounts it has happened on another. im in bits dont know what to do or how to take steps with my catalouge as to how this could of happened without my know how

I want to take the complaint further but after 3 calls to them i am no further i have not been told anything just that its in the hands of fraud but i am not happy with this and want to take action.

any advise of what i can write or where to go to take action

IF YOU HAVE CATALOUGES PLEASE ALWAYS CHECK THEM ESPECIALLY IF YOU USE ON LINE

thanks

You may be careful about giving your personal information but how careful are you with your computer security? If they changed your details online, then they must have got your username and password from somewhere. If it isn't and easy password to guess then the most likely place they got it is your pc.

Why complain about the catalogue people - they have picked up the fraud before it's hurt you, and alerted you to it?

Very true, who'd the complaint be against and what for? Catalogue company hasn't proven to have done anything wrong so far.
