Although Hits is a national station via DAB they're still going to get more listeners and by extension entries in and around the regions they and their partner stations broadcast from.

Hits are based in Manchester, all the other stations are based in the Midlands or Northern England.

Where do you think the money for these huge prizes comes from? If they're giving away over £50K they're making substantially more than that in paid entries, predominantly from the listeners in the main broadcast regions who are likely just listening to their local station via an old school FM radio and send a single text on a whim.

It stands to reason most winners will have entered via the paid route. Those of us who are savy enough to only enter for free will be in the minority. We're each just 6 entries within the swathe of paid entries it takes to justify such a huge prize.
