I'm thinking about buying my daughters who are 4&5 a tablet each for Xmas. Ideally I'd like something educational for them....at the moment my eldest is enjoying the Teach your Monster to read app on my phone, so I'd like a tablet where they can have similar things. Can anyone recommend something suitable please.

I think the Amazon fire kids tablets have always looked quite good (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazon-Fire-HD-8-Kids-Edition-Tablet-Alexa-Display-32GB-Blue-Kid-Proof-Case/dp/B078HRR9MW).
You can get them in bigger and smaller sizes. I used to have a normal Amazon fire and it was really good.
The video found on the website (https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/C1owSsU15PS.mp4) explains it all as well.0 -
As esault says, Amazon fire kids tablets. They are amazing....
They come with a years subscription to Amazon kids stuff and an unconditional guarantee against any breakage the kids might encounter.
I've recently returned one that wouldn't charge any more, due to excessive force from child pulling the charge cord out. (it lasted 23 months.)
They exchanged with no quibbles whatsoever and the return of the old one was free.....
They also told me that they even swap them outside of the 2 year guarantee advertised.
You won't find better for that age group.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Youre paying £50 extra for the case and insurance and kids subscription over the normal tablet.0

The Fire 7 Kids Edition is a nice tablet also and more affordable.0

My little one has an Amazon Fire 7, Non kids version. Pick them up when they are £30.
Easy enough to install Google Play services on it also.0 -
We've found the kids' Amazon Fires very good. The tablets themselves are perfect for kids and the apps are pretty good, with easy to use parental controls. Get an extra memory card! Wait until Black Friday, they usually have good deals.0
