Ageas/RIAS - Excess Protection

Hi,
I am looking at quotes and had a question re Excess Protection with RIAS/Ageas.
They offer this for £30 to cover up to £300 of excess. I have a fairly premium car so lowering the excess to my desired level is pricey. However, I have noticed that increase the excess from my desired level by £300 saves me far more than £30 in premium.
Is there any catch (that I must be missing) to taking such an approach. Is there circumstances where I may end up paying the excess without it being covered by the Excess Protection policy (sold and underwritten by Ageas)
Thanks in advance

What does the T+Cs mention in regards to the excess protection, when they won't protect it for example?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
